Job description

We are looking for a dedicated assistant playworker to join our team in providing children with a safe and fun environment. This is a part-time opportunity of 16 hours per week, term time only. However, positions with fewer hours are also available.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supporting the Club Manager and peers in supervising and engaging with children

• Ensure that the club runs in line with the National Minimum Standards and Regulations set out by the Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW).

• Helping to plan and implement activities (aged from 4-12 years old) that promote development while considering Health and Safety aspects

• Provide a light snack and drink to the children

• Tidy away at the end of the night

• Assisting in maintaining a clean and organised play area

• Building positive relationships with children and their families

• Adhering to all policies and procedures to ensure safety and compliance

Personal Specification:

Essential:

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Team player attitude

• Passion for creating a positive and engaging environment for children

• Flexibility to adapt to the needs of the children

Desirable

• Previous experience within a childcare setting and/or qualifications in Playwork is advantageous but not necessary as training will be given (cost covered by Employer).
